Lanterns Of The Throat - A Scenic Traveling Mod by MannyGT has been in work for quite some time now. He has merged many different assets from the old lanterns of skim, to lanterns of the new school, the lantern of the city, and many other custom made lanterns for the cities of Whiterun and Dawn. It's called Lanterns Of The Throat - Part 2. This mod adds several new lanterns to major roads/villages/towns/roads. I think it's really good adding the lanterns to the maps because it adds life to the map. I also really like the fact that it was made for skim because it reminds me of being there, a place where lights shine.
The first version of Lanterns Of The Throat, added some lanterns to almost all of the major roadways in skim, it was a very big deal, because people were complaining that the lantern lighting wasn't moving enough, and there were so many lanterns on the maps. They wanted more, so they made more. But after doing some more research, I found out that there are several other skyrim mods that already include lanterns of the type you may be interested in, but not in that many places. I found an awesome mod that does this and took the information from there to make sure I put them all together in one place, so your experience with skim lanterns will be complete!
I didn't think about this at the time, but after playing the game, I read a comment from a guy who plays the game quite often, who had noticed that the lanterns in skyrim aren't always the same as the ones on the map. Some are missing, some aren't working right, and some are broken. There are a few reasons why this might be, but I didn't do any research into it. If you want to add lanterns to the main roads, or make some of the non-working ones work, you should find out how. The most important thing is that you get the skyrim lanterns you want to add!
